CALSA Welcomes Dr. Elizabeth Blanco as Director of Women’s Leadership Network

Sacramento, CA —  The California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators (CALSA) proudly announces the election of Dr. Elizabeth Blanco, Superintendent of Pasadena Unified School District, as the new Director of its Women’s Leadership Network (WLN). Dr. Blanco brings more than three decades of distinguished leadership in public education, with a deep commitment to fostering equity, inclusion, and academic excellence across California school districts.

In her role as Superintendent, Dr. Blanco leads with a vision that centers on both innovation and collaboration, ensuring all students in California school districts have access to high-quality education. From Special Education programs to Early Childhood Education and inclusive curriculum development, she has consistently demonstrated a passion for equity, advocacy, and creating spaces where every learner can thrive.

"Her dedication to equity, mentorship, and community-centered leadership embodies the heart of CALSA’s mission. Through her guidance, the Network will continue to uplift, inspire, and empower women leaders across California, ensuring that diverse voices are represented at every level of education."

Dr. Blanco’s leadership extends beyond her district to influence systemic change across California school districts. She has been recognized with numerous awards, including ACSA Region XV Superintendent of the Year (2024) and Special Education Administrator of the Year (2007–2008). Her experience in strategic planning, equity initiatives, and community engagement reflects a lifelong commitment to advancing public education and creating meaningful opportunities for students, families, and educators alike.

As Director of CALSA’s Women’s Leadership Network, Dr. Blanco will champion initiatives that mentor, support, and elevate women administrators. Through her leadership, the WLN will continue to provide a platform for collaboration, professional growth, and advocacy, ensuring that women leaders are visible, valued, and equipped to shape the future of California’s school districts.
