CALSA/GCU SCHOLARSHIP

The California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators is a professional association that advocates for the continued development and placement of Latino educational leaders who are committed to quality public education.


The  California Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents will award three (3) $5,000 scholarships to attend Grand Canyon University in any of GCU’s 220+ online degree programs. The most popular are the M.Ed. Educational Administration, Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programs. The programs are completed 100% online. Scholarship recipient must meet the admissions requirements for each program as outlined below. Each program also has different emphasis areas outlined below. Scholarship recipients will work with GCU counseling staff for admissions into the program.

Eligibility and application process:

1. You must be a current dues-paying member of CALSA to apply.

2. You must be currently enrolled in, or accepted into, one of the advanced degree programs listed above at Grand Canyon University with the goal of becoming a superintendent.

3. Complete the Scholarship Application Form and submit to CALSA.

4. Submit a 500-word, or less, essay on how an advanced degree will help you achieve your goals and further the goals of CALSA.

5. Submit your resume, brief biography and three letters of recommendation from past/ current supervisors and professors.

All materials must be submitted by the deadline to be considered.

Please note: Scholarships will be awarded by the university to GCU tuition.

Program Admission Requirements:

· M.Ed. Educational Administration:

2 years verified teaching experience, current teaching certificate, undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution with GPA 2.8 or above, letter of intent

· Doctor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Data Analytics, Management, or Marketing:

Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a GPA of 3.4 or above, MBA or non-MBA Master’s with fundamental courses, interview with program chair, letter of intent

· Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Christian Ministry, Higher Education Leadership, K-12 Leadership, Organizational Development, or Teaching & Learning:

Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a GPA of 3.4 or above, letter of intent

· Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Special Education:

Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a GPA of 3.4 or above, an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degree in education, letter of intent

· Doctor of Philosophy in General Psychology with an Emphasis in Cognition & Instruction, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Integrating Technology, or Performance Psychology:

Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a GPA of 3.4 or above, letter of intent

· Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision:

Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a GPA of 3.4 or above, letter of intent, must have graduated from a CACREP entry level institution
