MISSION: The California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators (CALSA) is a community of diverse educational leaders skilled in addressing the needs of Latino/a students and dedicated to increasing the number of highly effective Latino/a administrators.

PURPOSE:

The California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators is a professional association that advocates for the continued development and placement of Latino educational leaders who are committed to quality public education.

CALSA is dedicated to supporting its members who are actively pursuing advanced degrees in alignment to our mission and purpose of effective leadership and advocating for Latino students. This year, CALSA is offering one (1) $5,000 scholarship for the continuing education of our membership. Curriculum Associates is generously sponsoring this scholarship exclusively for CALSA members. They are committed to making classrooms better places for teachers and students through their innovative research-based programs.

The scholarship will be made payable to the recipient’s college/university and the recipient will be presented the award during the CALSA Summer Institute in San Jose during July 10-12, 2017.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Current paid member of CALSA.

  • Currently enrolled or accepted into an advanced degree program (Education) in a college or university with the goal of becoming a Superintendent.

  • Current and incoming CALSA Board Members are not eligible for this scholarship.

TIMELINE

Application Submitted:   May 15th, 2018

A completed application includes:

  • Application form

  • Resume

  • 3 letters of recommendation
