The 2017 Nominations and Election of Officers is officially under way! Elections for Vice President & Regional Representatives will take place April 5 – May 1, 2017. Please find information regarding which seats are open and nomination requirements.
April 5 – May 1, 2017 – Application Submission. Application deadline is 5pm on May 1st.
May 3 – June 1, 2017 – Election Process

Summer Institute 2017 – Board Transition
The duties of the Vice President shall be to oversee and coordinate committee assignments and their reports to the Executive Board and assume other assignments as requested by the President. Oversight of the CALSA Mentoring Program and its budget will be a major responsibility.
Those interested in this office must be prepared for a four year commitment. The Vice President automatically succeeds to the President-elect position. The President-elect automatically succeeds to the Presidency. The President automatically succeeds to the Past President position.
Candidates for election to Vice President must also be a General Member in good standing for at least two years, and the candidate must serve at least one year as an officer or Board Member before taking office as Vice President.
Each Regional Representative serves a two year term;
* Region 1 – Bay Area
* Region 4 – Central Coast

The Statewide Regional Representatives will be responsible for soliciting members and coordinating a minimum of one regional membership reception annually.
Criteria for a candidate to qualify for the upcoming Board of Directors elections are as follows:
* Candidates must have maintained active membership for at least one year prior to applying for a Board of Directors seat.
*Candidates must live in the respective CALSA Region in which they are applying to represent.
* Candidates must advocate and conduct themselves in the best interest of promoting CALSA and its bylaws.
* Candidates must be available to attend and participate in all CALSA BOD meetings, activities and events (meetings, phone conference calls and regional recruitment efforts).
